FH Companion ("we," "us," or "our") is a fan-made companion App for the Fallout universe, developed by Angelyze. The App provides news, lore, social media feeds, radio streams, videos, an AI-powered wiki, community features, mini-games, and other Fallout-related content.

This privacy policy explains how information is handled when you download, install, or use the App.

If you do not agree with this privacy policy, please do not use the App.

This Privacy Policy is hosted on the Fallout Hub Blog, which uses Google Blogger as its publishing platform. Blogger and Google may automatically process technical information, such as IP address, browser type, cookies, device information, and visit data, when you access this webpage.

This website may also use cookies, analytics, advertising, consent-management tools, and other services provided by Google or third parties. These website practices apply to your visit to this privacy policy webpage and the Fallout Hub Blog. They do not represent additional data collection by the FH Companion mobile app.

The FH Companion app does not use Blogger cookies, Blogger analytics, or website advertising technologies inside the native app. For information about data collected by Google Blogger or other website services, please review Google’s privacy policy and the relevant service settings.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

Automatically Collected Information

The App connects to our hosted services and third-party content providers to retrieve news, videos, community posts, radio streams, game content, and AI Wiki responses. These services may receive technical information such as your IP address, device type, operating system, app version, request timestamps, and error information as part of delivering and securing their services.

The App does not use analytics, advertising identifiers, or account-based tracking.

We do not intentionally collect precise location data, contacts, camera images, microphone recordings, advertising identifiers, or account credentials.

Network Information: We use the INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions to verify connectivity and deliver content (news, videos, community posts, and similar).

Audio Settings: The MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS permission is used for radio playback and other media features.

Information You Provide

You may choose to provide a display name and profile image during onboarding. This profile information is stored locally on your device and is not intentionally uploaded to our servers.

If you use the AI Wiki, the questions you submit and the recent conversation context needed to generate a response are sent to our hosted AI Wiki service and Google Gemini. AI Wiki conversation history is stored locally on your device.

Please do not submit personal, confidential, or sensitive information to the AI Wiki.

Third-Party Data

The App displays embedded content from third parties (YouTube, social media feeds, and news sources). These services may collect their data. We do not collect any log-ins or data intended for displaying ads.

The AI Wiki uses Google Gemini through our hosted service. Your AI Wiki questions and the recent conversation context needed to generate a response are transmitted to Google’s Gemini service. We do not use AI Wiki conversations for advertising. Google may process this information according to its own privacy policy and service terms.

Sensitive Personal Data

The app does not request health data, precise location data, contacts, financial information, biometric data, camera images, or microphone recordings. Users should not submit sensitive personal information to the AI Wiki.

Advertising

FH Companion does not display advertisements and does not use personal information for targeted advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

Provide and improve the app's core features (news and community feeds, radio stations, videos and live streams, AI Wiki, mini-games, and various content in the app).
Comply with legal obligations and prevent misuse.

3. Sharing Your Information

We may share information in these situations:

With service providers that help us operate the app, including Expo Hosting, Google Gemini, and third-party content providers used for news, video, community, and radio content.
In response to legal requests or court orders, or to protect our rights and safety.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice where required).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services and Links

The app may contain links to external websites, YouTube videos, social media, Discord, or other Fallout-related resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their privacy policies.

The app may open or display content hosted by external websites, including the Fallout Hub Blog. When you visit those websites, their own privacy policies, cookies, analytics, advertising, and data practices apply separately from this App Privacy Policy.

5. Data retention

Profile information, selected profile images, cached content, preferences, and AI Wiki conversation history are stored locally on your device. You can remove this locally stored information by using any deletion controls provided in the app or by uninstalling the app.

Requests sent to our hosted services may be temporarily retained in server logs for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and service operation. We do not maintain AI Wiki conversations as a user account history. Requests may still be temporarily processed or recorded in operational or security logs according to the practices of our hosting and AI service providers.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Data Access / Deletion: Contact us at the address below to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data (subject to legal limitations).

Do Not Track: The app does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or other regions with data protection rights may have additional rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability). Contact us to exercise these rights.

California Residents: We do not sell personal information. You may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) — contact us for more details.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 or the applicable minimum age in the user’s jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Intellectual Property and Fan-Made Status

“Fallout” and related names, characters, locations, logos, artwork, and other materials are trademarks or copyrighted works of their respective owners. All rights belong to their respective owners.

FH Companion does not claim ownership of third-party intellectual property. Some content is original, some is used for commentary, reference, or informational purposes, and some is retrieved from publicly available third-party sources. Third-party content remains subject to its owner’s rights and terms.

10. Intellectual Property and Content Sources

FH Companion does not bundle or distribute Fallout game files, official game assets, proprietary source code, or official Bethesda artwork. News, videos, community posts, and other current content may be retrieved from publicly available third-party sources and remain the property of their respective owners.

The App may include original fan-created commentary, guides, summaries, references, and other informational text relating to the Fallout universe. These materials are not official Fallout content and are not intended to replace or reproduce the original games or other official works.

FH Companion is an independent, unofficial fan-made application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by Bethesda Softworks, ZeniMax Media, Microsoft, or any Fallout rights holder. “Fallout” and related names, characters, locations, logos, and other marks belong to their respective owners.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
